so this week i had the honor of meeting the first black female traffic officer in virginia, and she is now 82 years old and lives as my mothers roommate at an assisted living home. she doesn’t look a day past 60, her mother lived to be 102, and she was married for 52 years. she told us about how she still owns her own house in virginia and hopes to move back in eventually with my mother because they are such good friends. :^)
